Have you ever heard of Onlyfans, Admireme.vip or MYM projects? We bet you did! These content sharing network websites are extremely popular and have a huge potential of monetization for web models and especially for site owners. Lot’s of our clients at Upwork asked us to create a WordPress clone of Onlyfans with various options and features. This is a pretty challenging task considering that it includes payment gateways integration, recurring subscriptions and one-time pass products, members directory management, internal notifications, video streaming and video chats. Though the scope was huge we added feature by feature and came to a complex and multi-tenant project that works similar to onlyfans and admireme.vip websites.
The first project that gave us a hint to create a onlyfans WordPress theme was a personal website of web model that provided membership access to exclusive video materials and allowed to arrange video streaming and chats via WordPress zoom plugin. But that was an easy task as we managed access to only one model profile and some special pages with vieo and photo galleries. The next project was an influencers directory that provided subscriptions to Snapchat accounts. And that was really challenging. We used some popular WordPress plugins for social communities and added our own custom plugin that controlled access to model profiles based on clients’ subscription products. It took us 6 weeks to move the project from staging to production and 3 more weeks adding custom features and improving UX. That gave us lot’s of expertise on running sites like onlyfans in terms or subscription management, providing best UX features to models and clients.
As a result, we decided to create a WordPress theme that helps to build a content sharing network for web models and their fans. This is a great starting point that provides a really working website with the following features:
